The EV Pioneers are a determined group of high school students who excel in engineering, shop, physics, and computer science to name a few. The EV Pioneers will use their skills to compete in the Waterloo EV Challenge.
Biographies:
Adam Rolston
As the lead Fabrication Manager with over 4 years experience as a mechanic, I have mastered the ins and outs of small engine sales and service. I was honored with an invitation to join the Pioneers EV team. Now, I spend the majority of my time brainstorming strategies and connecting with industry professionals
William Rolston
I am in grade 12. I am homeschooled. My previous experiences are in programming, designing in CAD, and fabricating the robot on Team 2706 with the First Robotics competition. I will be deigning the electrical system as well as designing and fabricating the car. My interests are circuit design and java programming.
Zac Harvie
I attend Grade 12 at All Saints Catholic High School. I'm experienced in CAD and mechanical design with First Robotics, and am a student in manufacturing and machining. I enjoy machines and computers, and one of my biggest hobbies is being a member of the school FRC Team 2994. I'm going to be applying to mechanical/mechatronics programs at various universities, as I wish to start an engineering contracting firm upon graduation.
Dawson Giardino
I am a grade 10 student at Almonte District High school. I have an interest and passion for anything mechanical. For the past 3 years, I have been running my own small business, providing small engine sales and repairs. In my free time I enjoy dirtbiking and snowmobiling. Over the years, I have had extensive experience and success competing in Go kart Racing. Last May, I was a member of the ADHS Robotics team, who competed in the Provincial Skills Competition in Toronto. I am thrilled to be part of the EV Pioneers as a member of the fabrication team.
Micah Black
I am in grade 12 at Glebe Collegiate Institute. I love to tinker with arduinos and other electronics. I will be helping out with anything related to that. I started A2D Electronics, a local source for Arduinos and accessories. I enjoy hockey and cross country running as well as robotics.
Gabriel Braden
I am in grade 9 and am homeschooled. I am part of a local robotics team which has won the Ottawa Robotic Competition as well as numerous other local STEM competitions. I am the business manager for the EV Pioneers as well as the web master.
Sam Griffin
Sacred Heart High School - Grade 10 I am one of the lead fabricators on the team. I enjoy dirtbiking, wrestling, and lacrosse. I hope to become a welder or something in the trades.
Danny Wall
I am a grade 12 student at Sacred Heart High School. My interests include messing around with computers and small electronic projects. I hope to go to university to become a software engineer.
Curtis Hermans
I attend grade 9 at South Carlton High School I am the official finacial manager.I like Hockey and I also have an interest in fabrication of vehicles. Currently interested in Engineering
